Mark Simon (Can)

Mark is one of those fixtures in Beijing hockey - coach, player, organizer, referee. He coaches several youth teams, and has to deal with psychotic parents dreaming of an NHL future for their kids in a land where there is no competition to get better and challenge the kids. But parents are the same everywhere.

Mark deals with the parents as he does with the players - firm and final - he's the boss.

Mark took a youth team to Ottawa where his hotel was lit afire by arson (possibly by the team they ended up beating in the tournament - kidding eh...) but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and they ended up winning the tournament and met the Canadian Prime Minister - Stephen Harper!
