Kids to Beijing 2007 Thanks to everyone who donated and bought beer during the Kids Tournament. 25 Mongolians came by train and stayed for 4 days in Beijing! We raised over 17,000rmb which when combined with the donations from the Men's Team in Mongolia last month, covered all of their costs! Including a trip to the hospital to mend a broken arm! Of the 22 kids, only 2 had ever left Mongolia before! Walking through Tiananmen Square and seeing buildings over 5-stories high was an eye opening experience! Over 200 kids from Beijing (both local & expats), Shanghai expats and Mongolia were mixed and placed on teams according to ages. Shawn Sparling did most of the organizing, and "Thank You!" to all of the volunteer coaches, referees, timekeepers and parents who helped pull off this great weekend!
"The Apples" above finished 2nd in the senior age group. They lost a hard fought 2-3 final!
