"THE
YEAR OF THE FOX"
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
For the second year in a row,
Harry O'Melia lead the New Jersey Hunt Club Foxes on an Asian Hockey Tour.
In 1998, Beijing International helped them with a tour of North East
China's Old Timer Hockey teams, and when the Chinese Olympic Men's Team
threw down the gauntlet and challenged them to a series, they accepted.
And loss by a goal or two...
For 1999, the Foxes returned. This time
join the the 3rd Annual UB-Cup.
Upon arrival in Beijing, on the eve of
Chinese New Year, Beijing International whisked the Foxes to the moat of
the Forbidden City, for what Beijing Hockey calls, "Forbidden
Hockey!" The game of shinny with the ramparts and guard towers in the
background lasted from 9 until 11pm, with celebratory fireworks
lighting the sky, bringing in the new year. Unfortunately... Chuck... a
player joining from Hong Kong, was the photographer that evening, and
every photo ended up being a close-up of his middle finger. A midnight
dinner at the Swissotel would be the last supper for this crew flying
north the next morning.
